It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how long I have lived in Lanzarote, I still discover new places to go and new things to do.

La Degollada is a hamlet south-west of Yaiza and its "merendero" is closer to Yaiza than to La Degollada, to be fair, less than two kilometers from the square in Yaiza. read more »

We attended the official opening of the Museo Atlántico off the coast of Playa Blanca earlier this week. The museum, has been constructed by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor over the last two years, with many of the statues being moulded from local Lanzarote residents.
The museum, which is at a depth of around 14 metres, consists of over 200 figures - a 300 ton, 30 metre long wall, a botanical garden and a ring of bodies, all spread over an area of 50 X 50 metres of sand.
Everything has been constructed from a PH neutral concrete and already sea life is beginning to appear on the artificial reef. read more »
