WOMAD is a huge festival that takes place each year in Gran Canaria, this year is the 15th event and the dates have been confirmed as the 12-15th November. WOMAD is short for World Of Music, Art And Dance, the event attracts artists from around the world and even better the entrance is free for the whole weekend. The festival is based in and around Parque Santa Catalina in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria. Some of this years artists performing include:

Yone & Timpleband & Javier Infante (Canary Islands/Spain)
Najma Akhtar & Gary Lucas (United Kingdom) & (United States)

Fred Olsen have a special concession on their ferries for the event but the prices of €27.75 per adult and €14.75 per student for a return trip only appear to be from Tenerife to Gran Canaria and not Lanzarote.
