Wildlife Parks, Lanzarote

There are two parks to visit in Lanzarote, the first is Rancho Texas and the second is Guinate Tropical Park.

Rancho Texas, Puerto del Carmen

There are two parts to Rancho Texas:

The park is open each day from 9:30am to 5:30pm, there is a wide variety of animals with various shows throughout the day including bird of prey, parrots, sealions and a wild west lasso show. Amongst the animals, birds and reptiles you can see a white tiger, american bison, crocodile, boa constrictor, bald eagle and a toco toucan.

In the evening from 7pm there are show nights on a Tuesday, Friday and Saurday it's the country and western show with all you can eat BBQ and drinks, line dancing and on Wednesdays there is a flamenco night with a Spanish food buffet and drinks and a flamenco dancers.

There is a free daily bus running from the resorts of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen and a small charge for and limited collections to and from Playa Blanca.

Guinate Tropical Park, Haría

The park is situated next to a viewing point high on top of the Famara cliffs stretching to the Mirador del Rio. There are many different species of bird in the park such as ostrich, macaws and owls, one of the attractions is a walk through aviary where you can see them in a natural environment.

The popular event of the day is feeding the humboldt penguins which is at 12:00 and 4pm each day (not Thursdays). There are animals to see too such as lemurs, meerkats and wallabys.
