Have you walked along the promenade next to the airport in Lanzarote this week? If so, you must have noticed the billboards stretching along the perimeter fence which are part of a new exhibition.
A total of 89 posters have been fixed along the length of the 1.6km runway fence, entitled “Una caminata por el tiempo... del polvo estelar hasta nosotros” which translates to “A walk through time……from stardust to us”. The posters will be in situ until January 2012, the timeline covering the earth’s evolution over 4,600 million years starts from the viewing area at the end of the runway and are fixed in regular intervals on the fencing along Playa Guacimeta in the direction towards Playa Honda.
The exhibition is on loan from the Foundation for Global Community (EEUU and has been organised by the Reserva de Biosfera de Lanzarote in conjunction with AENA. Currently the information on the posters are displayed in Spanish, on the 4th December they will be exchanged to exhibit the information in English until the end of January.
