The train has arrived in Arrecife! A new shuttle bus service in the guise of a train made by Dotto in Italy (Castelfranco Veneto) is now running from the parking area of Charco de San Ginés around the capital of Lanzarote. The locomotive has three passenger carriages which can accommodate up to sixty people and travel at speeds up to 50km per hour, there's also a TV on board which gives tourist information during the journey.
The new train shuttle service is on trial for 15 days to establish any problems with traffic, the route selected currently runs from Charco San Ginés to the bus stop in front of the Cabildo building with an interim stop at Calle Real. At the moment this is a free service that runs from 10am to 3pm for tourists and residents, although a charge may be introduced and the routes extended in the future.
What a great attraction and way to travel along the seafront in Arrecife.
