This year's Carnival celebrations in Tinajo will take place from the 10th to the 12th of March with the theme "Dioses del Mar", Gods of the Sea:
Friday 10th March
At 18:00h - Parade with Batucada Chimbay and the show Tupuna "Ancestros de la Polinesia". Departing from the enclosure of the "verbena" (party). Prepearing for the parade an hour previously.
At 21:00h - Carnival Gala with the performance of the Municipal Dance School, Comparsa Los Cumbancheros and dancer Daniel de la Rosa.
At 23:00h - Popular "Verbena" (party) with the traditional Sheet Contest and the performances of the Orchestra Otra Clave and the band Atlantis Swing.
Saturday 11th March
At 18:00h - Parade with floats, murgas, comparsas, batucadas, mascaritas and more. It will go through the Avenida de los Volcanes. Followed by the performances of the Batucadas Chimbay, Guaychara and Princesa Attenya and afterwards "verbena" (party) with the Orchestra Otra Clave and the band Atlantis Swing.
Sunday 12th March
At 10:30h - III Carrera de MascaritasCarnival charity run in aid of Creciendo Yaiza, the island's charity for handicapped children. Children's race, 5km and 10km categories, registration free, €8 and €12, respectively. Registrations on http://www.cronolinecanarias.com/event/iii-carrera-mascaritas-tinajo.
At 12:30h - Day CarnivalWith the performanges of a magician, batucada, the band Bourbon and Pepe Benavente. During the day it will also take place the I Carnival Hats Contest. To make them there will be a workshop held at the Centro de la Tercera Edad, prior to the Carnival itself, on Monday the 6th at 16:30h.
