Things to do in Lanzarote Part Six - Lanzarote Golf

Lanzarote Golf is the island's new golf course, recently opened just off the main road from Puerto del Carmen to Tias.

For information about Lanzarote's other course at Costa Teguise, please visit this article about Teguise Golf.

The course looks sumptuous, the lush greens, numerous palms and huge lake, providing an amazing contrast with Lanzarote's usual barren beauty.

It's an 18 hole course, par 72 and of just over 6,000 meters in total. It was designed by well known American Ron Kirby.

Kirby designed the course with Lanzarote's perpetual water problems in mind, and the plants are all indigenous to the island, and all water used for irrigation is green water, which has been recycled. It has been constructed to blend with the island's normal look and features traditional stone walls throughout.

Lanzarote is well suited to the game, and thanks to our tremendous climate, golf can be enjoyed here all year round.

Whilst the course itself is complete, construction of the clubhouse and bar are still underway, however there is a temporary clubhouse.
