After an amazing year in 2009, we plan to expand Lanzarote Information even further in the new year, offering more amazing content for our readers. As part of that expansion, we’re looking for staff writers who are prepared to focus on particular areas of the island, and also from countries abroad from which many of our tourists come. Image: Michelle Meiklejohn / FreeDigitalPhotos.net First and foremost, you need to be a decent and passionate writer, with a genuine interest in and love for the island. Ideally, you’ll also be a good photographer – part of the appeal of our site is the excellent photography we use – most posts have “real” photos that we shoot on the day, rather than stock images. We can provide you with a list of story tasks, but we’re looking for someone who can pro-actively go out and get the news and find new places and ideas to write about. You’re not going to get rich doing this! Initially we’ll be paying on a “per post” basis, but in the future we plan to move to a retainer. You will benefit from being exposed to our huge audience, and a link to any website you like on each story, and you’ll also have the opportunity to earn commission if you sell advertising to new clients. If you’re interested in joining us, please email jules@lanzaroteinformation.com – tell us a little about yourself, where you are based and why you think you’ll be good at this. Either write a short post for us as an example, or point us to something on the web you’ve written. We’re looking forward to hearing from you! |
