Lanzarote will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the holiday resort of Puerto del Carmen with special events from the 13th to 17th March 2017.
The news of the event was announced this week by the department of tourism in Tías council. Puerto del Carmen is the resort in Lanzarote, if not the Canary Islands that our visitors from Ireland flock to, they particularly like the Matagorda and Old Town areas.
The Plaza del Varadero situated in the harbour of the old town will be dyed green on the 17th March, with an agenda including typical Irish gastronomy, live music, parades and other performances.
Amado Vizcaíno, the Councilor for Tourism in Tías commented that the Irish tourists and residents feel very welcome in our land, as well as an excellent all year round climate. He went on to say that each year more Lanzaroteños join in with the fiesta to share the day and strengthen community ties.
The programme of events are due to start on the 13th March with various concerts, sports activities and events, as well as the traditional parade along the Avenida de Las Playas.
