Parents should complete the Solicitud de Matrícula available from the school at the earliest opportunity between the 12th and 30th April, this document together with any additional forms for transport, religion, comedor etc should be returned together with the following documents proving your residency in Lanzarote and child’s age: Padron certificate (Certificado de Empadronamiento) available from your Ayuntamiento Copy of the libro de familia or child’s birth certificate Copy of residencia certificate (Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la Unión) available from the Comisaría de Policía in Arrecife Copy of the parents D.N.I. / N.I.E. / passport Child’s Vaccination Certificate (Cartilla de vacunaciones) available from the Centro de Salud Copy of your Social Security card (Cartilla de la Seguridad Social) available from the Instituto Nacional de la Seguridad Social (INSS) in Arrecife Four headshot photos of the child sized 25mm x 30mm Provisional lists of primary school students will be posted on the notice board at the school on the 16th May, the final list is released on the 8th June. Secondary school applications should be made between the 16th April and 4th May. The state school system is known as Ley Orgánica de Educación (LOE) and provided free of charge to Spanish residents, some schools have a uniform and all expect the parents to provide stationery and text books at the start of each year.
