Punta Mujeres

Punta Mujeres is a small (non tourist) village on the coast in the North of Lanzarote. It is very picturesque, wandering along the front reminds me of quaint Cornish villages until you stumble upon the Spanish bars and restaurants to remind you that you’re in Spain.

The village has four sea water swimming pools set into the coastline at intervals, these pools are nothing more than rock pools at low tide and great for cooling off and chilling with friends at high tide.

There are a surprising number of little supermarkets dotted around the village, Las Rosas - the bakery and a good selection of restaurants. Palenke usually offers live Spanish entertainment on a Friday evening and has a wood fired grill that produces some excellent food, its hidden on a side street but well worth seeking out and the best in the village. The bar La Piscina is a no frills, great location bar, you have to sit at one of the outside tables in the daytime overlooking the most popular sea pool with a cold beer to enjoy. Tres Lunas is popular at the weekend, typical Spanish menu including fresh fish and direct sea views.

The village coast road is a one way system and runs in different directions so park up and have a walk about, you will catch glimpses of small coves and turquoise waters, the village is very popular in the summer with residents of Arrecife, many Spanish families have a house here for fiestas and relaxing in the hotter months with a light sea breeze.

After a lazy lunch you should stretch your legs along the coast, head North towards the Jameos del Agua, there are some lovely little white sand beaches to snooze on.

I'd definitely want to go to

I'd definitely want to go to the North towards at the Jameos del Agua, where some lovely little white sand beaches with the perfect Patio dining sets side by to snooze on. This would be really perfect relaxation after a lousy lunch at the other side beach house.
