The beautiful marina at Puerto Calero now has its own market twice a week. Centred in the lovely square, the market will run every Tuesday and Friday from 10am to 2pm. This week was the very first time the market was held here and it proved popular, with crowds enjoying the warm sunshine in this pretty setting.
There are jewellery, leather and clothes stalls and the chance to buy local wines and locally made limoncello. The stall holders seemed happy with the number of people who were there for the first day and numbers will go up once the word gets round.
As with the big Sunday market in Teguise, tourists who just go on market day won’t see the venue behind the market but the charm of Puerto Calero is becoming well known and hopefully visitors will see both sides of this stunning place.
