Playa Blanca Cheese Fair 2017

The 5th edition of the Feria del Queso will be held in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March 2017.

This gastronomy event is held on the street in the centre of Playa Blanca, by the town beach. Visitors and residents are invited to attend the event, which is free of charge to enter.

This food event highlights the fantastic cheeses produced in Lanzarote, which pairs beautifully with our Malvasia wine. The Cheese Fair a very popular event,  bringing farmers and producers together to showcase our local products. Visitors can enjoy all the varieties of cheese that are made on the island, as well as other delicious culinary creations. Apart from food and wine tasting, there will be live music, workshops and showcooking demonstrations. 

This year the fair will be in the same location as before on the Avenida Maritime de Playa Blanca, but the organisers have expanded the space by 70% to more than 4,200m2. Thirty exhibitors have confirmed their attendance, as there will be Canarian and pop rock groups performing live music. Two lucky people attending the fair will be taking home a basket of local produce, after a raffle drawn over the weekend.

Visit on Saturday 11th March from 18:00 to 23:00 and Sunday 12th March from 11:00 to 16:00.

13:30 Cold lasagne with vegetables and fresh cheese from Lanzarote by Mikel Gaztañares, from La Cascada del Puerto.

14:00 Ropa vieja of goat with a cured cheese foam & slices of radish by Ernesto Palomar, from Restaurante La Puerta Verde.

14:30 Vegetable salad and cured cheese. Canarian tradition with Thai inspiration. Queso 'Bodega', de Finca de Uga, by Orlando Ortega, from Restaurante Lilium.
