Congratulations to Rocío the first baby born in 2010 in the Canary Islands.
Rocío was born at 00:44 weighing 3.2kg on the 1st January 2010 in the Hospital Universitario Materno Infantil in Gran Canaria, daughter to Mercedes Machado Cruz.
Next to weigh in was Emilio at 3.22kg at 01:10 at the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, Tenerife.
In third place was Jorge arriving at 02:02 and weighing 4.05kg, born at the Hospital General de Fuerteventura.
The islands of Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro didn’t have any new babies born in the early hours of the new year.
