lost puk number
I have a Movistar phone but have lost my pin and puk , any idea how I will unblock it please
Sorry! New Sim Required
Sorry Tim, If you don't know your PUK number then you will need to go to any Movistar shop and buy a new sim card, you will still have the same number but if your contacts are saved to the sim card, they will be lost.
Registering Details on Pay & Go SIM before November 7th
I have a Movistar Pay & Go SIM which I use in the UK for friends to contact me, and when I'm in Lanzarote. I've had several texts warning me to register my details as per the Law which was passed following the Madrid bombings, and I understand that if not registered by November 7th 2009, the number will be disconnected. Aswell as texts, I've had calls from Movistar, and I have explained that my Spanish is not good enough to speak with them properly and that I am based in the UK. This seemed to be ok, but the texts keep coming! Does anyone know how I can give my details and avoid the chop?!
Email me the information please!
Hi Jan, If you're in Spain, you just go to a Movistar shop and prove your ID, I'm not sure what you do if you're not planning to be in the area before the cut off date. Can you email me the text in Spanish and I'll see what I can find out - just spent time on their website trying to find more information but no luck! Thanks, Jules (jules@lanzaroteinformation.com)
Movistar Pay as you go Credit Expiry
A friend told me he had about 35 euros on his Moviestar Pay As You Go mobile in 2007. Then he had to go back to the UK for about 6 months. When he came back to Lanzarote his SIM card did not work as it was terminated because he had not been using his mobile whilst he was in the UK. So he had lost all his credit and had to buy a new SIM card on top of that.
Now I too have a Moviestar PAYG mobile, and because I have a Telefonica landline which entitles me to call Spanish landlines free, I now hardly ever need to call people with my Moviestar mobile.
What is the Moviestar rule ? Do I need to use it at least once every 3 months, or 6 months ? Or do I need to top up as well even though I have over 30 euros in credit?
Not sure
Sorry, I don't know for sure, I thought the rule was that you have to top the phone up every three months to keep your pay as you go number. It does seem daft if you're not using the credit and the balance keeps increasing, you could change the phone to a contract one which secures the number for you but presumably you would need to pay a monthly charge for this.
Laptop dongle
Please can anyone provide me with the telephone number of the Movistar shop in the Biosfera shopping centre in Puerto del Carmen?
