 To mark the inauguration of the work recently completed at the auditorio de los Jameos del Agua there was a special screening of the film created by Pedro Almodóvar starring Penélepe Cruz this week. The film entitled Los Abrazos Rotos (Broken Embraces) was shot in various locations around Lanzarote in 2008 and many locals who auditioned as extras. The celebration was attended by 500 guests including Manuela Armas, the President of the Cabildo and Rita Martin, the Minister for Tourism. Look out for ‘Fobos’ the César Manrique wind sculpture on Tahiche roundabout and the dramatic landscape of El Golfo if you get a chance to watch the film.
