We were invited yesterday for a tour around the former Las Marinas Club Resort Hotel in Costa Teguise, which has been closed for eight months for refurbishment.
The Vitalclass Lanzarote Sports & Wellness Resort hotel has 125 junior apartment suites and 25 suites which have been refitted to a high standard with sports enthusiasts in mind. There is an incredible massage power shower in each bathroom – just what you need after a hard day exercising and there are thoughtful touches like scales so that guests can check their weight during their stay. Each apartment has a living area with a 32” flat screen TV, sofa and dining table and there is a separate kitchen with hob, fridge freezer and coffee maker so that you can prepare food and eat in if you prefer. The bedroom has a wall of fitted wardrobes, comfortable twin beds and another flat screen TV. Each apartment has a balcony with sun loungers and a choice of views, some face in to the communal pools whilst others face out to the resort or mountains behind.
Vitalclass Lanzarote are aiming for the sports, health and wellness market. The hotel has been completely furnished with these clients in mind, there are three outdoor swimming pools with sunbeds, cosy chill out areas, matching rattan furniture with thatched umbrellas and shaded areas throughout.
An outdoor gym has been installed, there were spinning bikes by the pool and a range of road and mountain bikes tempting guests to get out and explore the island of Lanzarote. The hotel also has the Ocean Vital Wellness Spa which includes a 25m indoor swimming pool divided into lanes for training, sauna, Jacuzzi, Bi thermal Scottish showers, indoor gym, indoor spinning class, fitness classes, padel & tennis courts as well as beauty and spa treatments. There is a self service buffet style restaurant in the hotel where special emphasis will be given to the nutritional value of the meals served. The pool bar also serves a tempting range of fruit and wheat smoothies.
It seems that Vitalclass Lanzarote has thought of everything for an active and relaxing holiday, the hotel is primarily aiming at singles, couples and groups of people rather than families although everyone is welcome but you won’t find a kid’s entertainment team onsite.
We were delighted to meet some of the staff during our tour yesterday, the service, food and drinks were fantastic, we know that some of our Ironman friends are just going to love this new addition to the range of sporty & spa holiday accommodation in Lanzarote.
