Young Couples

Lanzarote For Young Couples

We have a well established market for families here, and one for middle aged and older visitors without children in tow, but Lanzarote also has plenty to offer for young couples looking for all year round sunshine and interesting and unusual things to do.

Here are nine things young couples might enjoy on the island:

Snorkel in fabulous warm waters

The ocean here is warm all year round, reaching 24 degrees in summer, and only falling to around 18 in mid winter. The snorkelling is amazing for two reasons – one the visibility is exceptional and two, we have amazing sea life close in shore. The best beaches for snorkelling are Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen, Playa Flamingo in Playa Blanca, Playa Jablillo in Costa Teguise, and Playa La Garita in Arrieta.

Hire a nice car and explore parts of Lanzarote most tourists don’t visit

We have a range of really interesting cars for hire for young couples, including VW and Audi Cabrios, the Mazda MX5, and even the Tesla Model X. Cruising our smooth, uncongested roads in any of the cars is a real pleasure. Visit the beautiful northern villages, spend time in Famara, and head south to El Golfo to see the real Lanzarote. Try a tasting menu at a top restaurant

Lanzarote is blessed with so many excellent restaurants, presided over by top class chefs. Several do some fabulous tasting menus – try the one at The Grand Hotel, Arrecife, Kentia in Puerto del Carmen or Kamezi in Playa Blanca.

Enjoy an adults only trip on a sailing catamaran

Catlanza is Lanzarote’s famous catamaran, which sails from Puerto Calero twice a day. They offer a “platinum” adults-only cruise several times a week, perfect for young couples, and the price includes transfers, lunch, use of snorkelling equipment and a jet ski ride.

Party until dawn on Puerto del Carmen’s strip

The Strip (the main avenida running along the beach) is the centre of Lanzarote’s nightlife, and the bars and clubs there stay open until dawn, offering a huge choice of live music and DJ’s playing all styles. And once those bars close, you can grab breakfast along the front for a few Euros.

Enjoy a romantic cocktail watching a world class sunset

Lanzarote’s sunsets are legendary and have been the catalyst for many a proposal. Famara is pretty good, Playa Blanca excellent, but the ones at El Golfo are probably the very best.

Try a new sport

We are known here as “The European Sports Destination” and you can try a huge range of new sports here, including scuba diving, wind surfing, kite surfing, regular surfing and stand up paddle, go karting, mountain biking, trekking, parascending and even abseiling down the face of a dam!

Explore Arrecife’s shops and café culture

The island’s capital is a quirky mix of a long pedestrianised shopping centre, with narrow streets leading off it where you can find all kinds of gems. Cafés and small bars with outside tables are to be found everywhere, and for lunch Charco San Ginés and The Marina offer a massive choice of cuisine.

Here’s why you should hire a car for more than a few days in Lanzarote.
