Finca de Uga Lanzarote Cheese

This is no mean feat, considering that there were over 3,000 cheeses participating from 26 different countries and and a jury of 250 experts to evaluate them. The Canaries sent a total of 60 entries and have won a total of 18 awards, including Lanzarote’s 7.

The Lanzarote winning cheeses are:

4 medals for  Finca de Uga: 3 bronze medals for their "Jersey Ahumado" (Smokey Jersey), "Ovejita" (Sheep) and "Rollito" (Roll); their “Secreto del Majo” (Majo’s Secret) has won a silver medal.

2 bronze medals for Montaña Blanca with their "Guatisea Semicurado" (Semi-cured) and "Guatisea Curado" (Cured) cheeses.

And 1 bronze medal for Tinache with their "Curado de Cabra" (Goats Cured) cheese.

They have been congratulated by the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés and the Agriculture and Cattle Farming Counsellor Antonio Morales on this achievement.
