Lanzarote Wines & Bodegas

La Geria Wine Region

The Lanzarote wine from the Malvasía grape was known as Malmsey and has a deep yellow colour and almond nose. Favoured in the past by King Charles III, William Shakespeare and Walter Scott.

If you fancy a visit to the bodegas for a taste test they are situated in the La Geria area of the island. Simply start at either end of the road that connects San Bartolomé and Uga, agree your designated driver before you start sampling!

My favourites are:

El Grifo Cava (sparkling)
Vega de Yuco (dry white)
Bermejo Tinto (red) although the locals only drink the white!
