The Wine Run organised by Club La Santa has become a popular event for both runners and walkers alike living or visiting the island of Lanzarote. This year the event course will be run in reverse due to the number of participants, we’ve outgrown the fabulous location of the Bodega Rubicón! The press conference for the race confirmed that they are expecting 2,000 participants to take part in the 21km half marathon trail run or 10km walk through the wine region of Lanzarote. If you would like to enter for this years race, please register as soon as possible before the 1st June as places are in demand and we don’t want you to be disappointed. This is a lovely event combining sport and gastronomy, walkers can stroll through the stunning landscape of La Geria stopping at the plentiful aid stations to sample wine as well as rehydrate with water. A food festival has been added to the agenda for this year’s race, this will be situated next to the church in Mancha Blanca for Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June. Participants should park in Mancha Blanca, a bus service has been provided by the organisers to transport the runners and walkers to their respective start points.
