The average annual temperature in Lanzarote is 20C or 68F. In summer you can expect temperatures to reach up to 36C in the months of August and September when the wind tends to drop and in the winter months of January and February it rarely falls below 15C overnight. The water temperatures range from 18C to 24C during the year making it a great all year round location for water sports. Our exceptional climate is due to our location we have a close proximity to the Sahara but we don't have a desert climate due to the cold sea current which flows from the Gulf of Mexico that helps to regulate the temperature. We also enjoy a cooling breeze from the northeast at an average of 20/30 km per hour. Our rainfall in an average of 4.9mm per month, therefore 60mm per year which is less than an average month in Manchester! When we do have rain it tends to fall hard and for a short period of time and usually in the winter months from November - February. We can get some spectacular scenes with raging barrancos taking the rain water from the mountains out to sea. |
