The Canary Islands benefit from the Northeast Trade Winds making it an ideal location for sailing, Lanzarote is often the last stop for yachts before making the Atlantic crossing. Atlantic Islands Sailing have a beautiful 45 foot Jeanneau yacht called Moonchild that is available for day trips in Lanzarote or bareboat charter for groups up to 8 people.
Day Trip
Imagine sailing from Puerto Calero over to the island of Isla de Lobos situated off the coast of Fuerteventura or down past the black beaches of Playa Quemada to the golden sandy ones of Papagayo, found in Playa Blanca the most Southern resort of Lanzarote. A day trip onboard Moonchild is a minimum of 5 hours during which you have exclusive use of the yacht, there are some stunning locations around the island of Lanzarote to anchor up and chill out for a relaxed lunch with a swim / snorkel.
It’s not guaranteed that you will see dolphins when you’re out sailing but they’re often spotted along with flying fish, turtles and the occasional whale.
Normally the day trips are taken from the morning until mid afternoon, however for those seeking a special romantic trip or sunset sail there is the chance of an evening excursion lasting between 3 – 5 hours from Puerto Calero towards Playa Blanca and back.
The price of a day excursion is from €75 per person based on 4 people, this includes a buffet lunch, snacks and complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks. Moonchild also has snorkelling equipment and beach towels for guests and a 6 man rib to ferry passengers ashore during the day if you don’t want to swim to the beach! Bareboat
Are you a competent sailor? Why not charter the Moonchild without skipper and crew to explore Lanzarote or cruise around the Canary Islands. The yacht can be hired for a day at €400, a weekend for €750 or for your entire holiday.
