Lanzarote Cocina

Eleven restaurants in Lanzarote have joined forces to form a new initiative called Lanzarote Cocina headed up by Chef Luis León. The Lanzarote Kitchen group consist of the following restaurants:

Arena (Puerto del Carmen)

Lilium (Arrecife)

El Risco (Famara)

Restaurante La Graciosa (Hotel Meliá Salinas in Costa Teguise)

The chefs from the Lanzarote Cocina want to promote local produce from Lanzarote, bringing together the growers, fishermen and farmers to highlight the gastronomy of Lanzarote for tourism.

On Tuesday 13th September 250 representatives from the different sectors of agriculture, winemakers, tourism and business were invited to the Finca de Uga in Yaiza for a presentation about Lanzarote Cocina.  During which it was explained that the essence of the group is to have a simple kitchen with quality food where the flavours and textures of the earth and sea can be presented on a plate, produced using traditional farming and fishing methods with a focus to maintain the environment and sustainability within Lanzarote.
