Lanzarote Carnival Dates 2017

As winter approaches, it’s time to start planning our carnival season in Lanzarote. We already know the date for Puerto del Carmen, and hopefully other councils will follow suit and confirm the official dates for the parades around the island.

Arrecife

Lanzarote’s capital of Arrecife will be celebrating their carnival from the 18th February to 1st March 2017.

Arrecife council have opened voting for the carnival theme from the 20th October to 3rd November 2016. The choices are Galactic Carnival, Wild West, World Tribes or a Venetian Carnival. You can cast your vote here Carnaval Arrecife.

Theme results: Tribus del Mundo 429 votes, Galáctico with 289, Veneciano with 121 & Lejano Oeste with 111 votes.

Puerto del Carmen

Carnaval2017 PuertodelCarmen

Puerto del Carmen will be celebrating their carnival from the 2nd to 5th March 2017. The theme is 50's & 60's as the holiday resort is celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Teguise

Teguise council opened voting for the carnival theme on the 4th October, there are three categories available including Cuba, Space and Cabaret. You can cast your vote here: Carnaval Teguise/ voting closes on the 18th October 2016.

Theme results: Cuba: Al son de guajira 48%, Cabaret, Moulin Rouge 41% and El espacio 12%

Costa Teguise will be celebrating their carnival on 11th March 2017.

Playa Blanca

Yaiza council have confirmed that the carnival theme is “El Mundo Marino" (Sea World) in 2017. A competition to design the carnival poster has been launched, with a prize of €600 to the winner.

Playa Blanca will be celebrating their carnival from the 24th to 26th March 2017.

Haría

The municipality town of Haría will be celebrating their carnival from the 16th to 19th March. The council have opened voting for the theme which ends on the 31st January. The three choices are El Lejano Oeste (Wild West), Bollywood or El Imperio Romano (Roman Empire).
