We were offered a STRATVS vino blanco seco with our fresh fish lunch at a restaurant in El Golfo recently and enjoyed the wine that much, we called into the Lanzarote bodega on the way home!
The STRATVS bodega is the first one situated on the right hand side of the road when travelling through La Geria from Uga to San Bartolomé, it really is impressive and worth a visit.
Please book in advance, if you would like to take the guided tour of the bodega, the cellar covers an area 2,500m2 with the latest modern equipment, you are invited to discover how the fire, earth and wind are turned into wines with prestige and personality. Alternatively, you can browse the wine and gourmet food store or enjoy Canarian tapas on the terraces.
The STRATVS wine bottles are available in 50cl and 75cl ranging in price from €8.50 per bottle, as well as the vino blanco seco, they offer, vino blance semi-dulce, rose, tinto and moscatel dulce. Although STRATVS is the latest bodega to open in Lanzarote, their vines date back 150 years and they have already won an award at Agrocanarias 2009 for their moscatel dulce.
I love the design of the bottles, we just had to sneak ours out of the restaurant, they have the raised words “El vino del fuego de la tierra del viento, Bodegas STRATVS Lanzarote, Canary Wine” and the label looks like its been partially ripped off.
