This beautiful little market square is hidden away just off the front and between Leon y Castillo and Charco de San Ginés in Arrecife. The easiest way to find the entrance to the market is to walk along the sea front with the Gran Hotel behind you and the sea on your right, continue past the Castillo de San Gabriel and the bridge, Puente de las Bolas, just on from here there is a sculpture, which I liken to an elephants trunk and if you look to your left there is a side street heading towards the church, if you cross over the road and head up the side street, the entrance is on your right about half way up. The market place had been closed for two decades and its only recently it was re-established. There are about 8 small workshops for artisans to sell their products such as handmade shoes, pottery, jewelry, bread, plants etc, a bar with seating in the square. From Monday to Friday there are several market stalls that offer fresh, organic, local products and on a Saturday these stalls are full of second hand goods. The market is open from 9am to 2pm Monday to Saturday, its really worth a visit, what a great place to sit with friends, have a coffee and enjoy the ambience.
