The annual concert Jolaterock will be held at Charco San Ginés in the capital of Lanzarote on Saturday.
The Department of Culture and Café-Bar La Miñoca have organised the concert which will start at 9pm on the banks of the picturesque Charco de San Ginés.
This year’s festival will feature some experienced performers such as Tío Matt, a quintet from Gran Canaria, groups including La Gallina Verde, Sintasiva, Moisés Márquez group, Overbooking, Snif Nh3 and Niño Ruido as well as DJ Oscartienealas. Expect music from Queen to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Police to Adel, the Jolaterock has fun, music and entertainment for everyone.
Eva de Anta the councillor for Culture in Arrecife said “that they will continue to support live music concerts although it is true that the budget for 2012 is reduced because of the economic situation and we have to prioritise funds to other areas such as Social Services. But it is still important that we support cultural initiatives such as this one so that we maintain a quality programme in public spaces for all citizens, so I encourage everyone to go on the 5th of May to the Charco, not just to enjoy but also be thrilled.”
