International Sherry Week in Lanzarote

Lanzarote will be participating in the International Sherry Week from the 2nd to 8th November 2015, with lessons in sherry tasting and a food pairing dinner at the renowned La Tegala restaurant.

International Sherry Week

Discover the wonderful world of sherry through a pairing menu between different wine styles and the innovative cuisine of Germán Blanco. Learn to distinguish between a fino and a manzanilla, amontillado and oloroso, discover the magic of a palo cortado, the versatility of a cream and the elegance of an old Pedro Ximenez.

Sherry Tasting

Ana María Martin Abild,  a sommelier and certified Sherry Educator by the Regulatory Council of Jerez, will be holding a sherry tasting lesson in English on Thursday 5th November from 17:00 to 19:00.

The Spanish version will take place on Friday 6th November taught by Carlos Lozáno Pérez, the enologist from Bodegas Teneguía (La Palma) from 18:00 – 20:00.

The price for either course is €30 per person.

Sherry Food Pairing

On both nights, after each tasting course, there is a sherry food pairing dinner available including the innovative cuisine of Germán Blanco, who was recently confirmed as the “Mejor Jefe de Cocina de Canarias” (Best Chef in the Canaries) for the Premios de Gastronomía del Diario de Avisos which will be celebrated in Tenerife on the 9th November 2015.

The cost for the food pairing dinner is €50 per person and can be booked separately or in conjunction with the sherry tasting course before.
