The track at San Bartolome is a cracker! A long main straight brings you to a hairpin left, and then you drop down the hill into an S bend. If you can exit the S well, you’ll have the speed to climb well through a series of turns back up and you’ll hit the start finish straight again maxing the kart out. Unlike so many Go Kart tracks around the world, this isn’t a case of keeping your foot in and simply steering. It takes skill and good control to lap quickly, and you get a lot of satisfaction from doing so. Here’s a short video of the karts in action: Currently there are two types of karts to choose from – the standard ones and some new, more powerful ones for more experienced drivers, and there are plans to extend the track to allow use of some new really powerful karts in the near future. But for now, the existing circuit offers some of the best fun you can have on a day out in Lanzarote! There’s a shaded terrace to watch the racing from, and a well stocked bar to enjoy a cooling drink, as well as darts and a pool table to keep people occupied. John and Irene run the events and are ably supported by a team who act as marshalls when the karts are racing. The atmosphere is friendly and fun, and everybody seems determined to make sure everyone has a good, and safe time. There’s a pick up service available from your accommodation on the island, or you can drive to the track in your hire car.
