Airport, Arrecife Lanzarote

Getting From Lanzarote Airport To Your Resort

Arrecife Airport is actually in Playa Honda, and is about 10KM from Puerto del Carmen, 15KM from Costa Teguise and 30KM from Playa Blanca.

There are several ways to get from the airport to your resort:

Taxi

Taxis pull up at the rank right outside arrivals at the airport. You’ll generally have to queue for a few moments, sometimes longer at busy times. Most taxis carry four passengers, but there are a few eight seaters. They don’t carry child or baby seats.

Prices are roughly:

  • €20 to Puerto del Carmen
  • €25 to Costa Teguise
  • €46 to Playa Blanca

Hire Car

Most of the island’s hire car companies offer airport collection and drop off – cars are parked in the airport car park, right across from the terminal. You should pre book your car – the island often runs low on cars, and prices always go up. We’re happy to help with car hire, and we’ve been booking cars for our readers for many years: Lanzarote Car hire.

You can hire small hatchbacks, saloons, estates, 7 and 9 seater cars, convertibles and even luxury cars here. All hire companies can provide child seats and booster cushions, we supply them free of charge.

If you’re paying for transfers, particularly to and from Playa Blanca, car hire can often be a cheaper option. Prices start at around €105 per week.

Private Transfer

Private transfers must be pre booked and paid for in advance. You’ll be issued with a voucher and told which desk to go to at the airport. Child seats and booster cushions are available, but they are subject to an extra charge.

Typical prices look like this for up to four people:

  • £40 to Puerto del Carmen
  • £48 to Costa Teguise
  • £90 to Playa Blanca

Shuttle Bus

Also pre- booked and paid, shuttle bus transfers depart from the airport bus station. Prices are from:

  • £6 per person return to Puerto del Carmen
  • £7 per person return to Costa Teguise
  • £11 per person return to Playa Blanca

You can pay more for a speedy shuttle, which guarantees you won’t have to wait longer than 30 minutes at the airport, and that there will be no more than 4 stops on the route.

Public Bus

Public buses run to and from the airport. The 161 and 261 go to Puerto del Carmen and then on to Playa Blanca. For Costa Teguise, you need to get the 22 to Arrecife bus station and change buses there. The buses run every thirty minutes during the day. You can find out more at the Bus Company website.
