The first of this year’s fiestas are about to start in Lanzarote with the fiesta in honour of Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria y San Blas from 26th January to 3rd February.
Marlene from Top Catz Dance contacted us to let everyone know that there is a free show on Sunday 29th January at 8pm in the Municipal Theatre, Tías where her students will be performing tap and flamenco dance routines along with Hanna Falkowska and her ballet students, plus Anmy Rodríquez and her latin dance students. Additional guest artists include Jimmy Dobro from the tribute show “Reach for the Stars” and Las Encantadas who are a ladies barbershop style harmony group in Lanzarote.

Saturday 28th January
17:00 Carrera Popular, registration is half an hour before the race commences from the Plaza de la Candelaria.
23:00 Verbena Popular with Lanzarote Swing and Los Conejeros in Plaza de la Candelaria.
Wednesday 1st February
19:30 Pasacalle (street procession) from the Sociedad in Tías to Plaza de la Candelaria
20:30 Traditional Fritura with wine and cheese followed by a Verbena Popular (party) in the plaza.
Thursday 2nd February
12:00 Solemn procession in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria accompanied by the municipal band and Candelaria choir.
Friday 3rd February
12:00 Solemn procession in honour of San Blas accompanied by the Candelaria choir.
20:00 VIII Encuentro de Timples La Candelaria y San Blas (timple concert) in the municipal theatre.
Friday 10th February
20:30 IV Rallye La Candelaria night stage motor racing.
Saturday 11th February
11:00 IV Rallye La Candelaria day stage motor racing. Full details have not been released by Escudería Racing Tías as yet, the race will be the first in the Campeonato Insular de Lanzarote schedule for 2012.
