The celebrations start today in the small coastal village of Arrieta to celebrate the Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Carmen.
Sunday the 31st is the day that all the boats will take to the sea with the Virgen, flares and fireworks, the harbour in Arrieta is a great place to watch this traditional celebration and normally there is an opportunity to jump aboard one of the larger boats and join in the fun whilst they motor up to Punta Mujeres and down to the beach at Arrieta in a cacophony of noise and colour!
