The rural village of Mancha Blanca in Tinajo is hosting a special weekend starting on Saturday evening with the Fiesta del Ganadero, followed by a livestock show, farmers market and food / wine tasting event on Sunday.
The Fiesta de las cocinas de la cabra will take place together with the VI Muestra de Ganado de Tinajo. Visitors will be able to sample goat’s cuisine, taste wines from Lanzarote as well as watching exhibitions of sheep shearing and milking. The food and wine tasting costs €1 per sample, tickets are normally sold in quantities of 5, one of which is used to collect your plate and glass. There will be sixteen stalls offering dishes with goat and kid as well as derivative products of goat's milk and cheese. Lanzarote is estimated to have around 18,000 goats living on the island.
