The island of Lanzarote will be trying to break a Guinness World Record in Puerto del Carmen on Christmas Eve.
We want everyone to dress in a Santa suit and come along to the Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen for 17:30, it’s going to take an awful lot of Santas but the aim is to have a line of people holding hands along the ocean front from the San Antonio Hotel to the Los Fariones Hotel!
Apart from the record attempt there will be a parade between 18:00 – 20:00 with Father Christmas on his horse drawn sleigh and a batucada band. There will be sweets to give out for the children and prizes for the hunkiest Mr Santa Claus, the sexiest Mrs Santa Claus and the best dressed child.
Santas should aim to be at the junction of Calle Italia and the Avenida de Las Playas at 17:30 to follow the sleigh and band down “The Strip” as part of the parade.
Santa suits are readily available in the shops from €6 so you have no excuse not to come and join in the fun!
