This is the title of the Nauty Boyz brilliant England world cup song. The Nauty Boyz are a young punk band who got together in October 2008. They are aged between 12-15 years old and all live in Lanzarote. Jordan is the youngest and the lead singer, Michael plays bass, Jake plays guitar and Jordi is on the drums. Their first gig was only six weeks after forming as a support act for The Skatoons in December 2008 when they had three songs and repeated one as an encore! They have really come on since then and practice at least once a week. Their set now runs to about 1 and half hours with around 25 songs, three of which are original numbers: We’re the kids, How much does that suck?? And The fans won’t let you down. The Boyz have enjoyed some success in Lanzarote playing paid gigs in Buddy’s, Bourbon Street, Rooftops and Charlie’s Bar which keeps them in bangers, badges and bubblies! But they love to play for the pure enjoyment of the live gig and in the past year have played at “Help for heroes”, “Alzheimer's awareness”, “Aminatou Awareness”, “Help the Tias fire brigade”, “Save the donkeys”, “SARA animal centre”, “Puerto del Carmen Fiestas”, “Music Marathon PDC” as well as being involved in AC/RC events such as Arrecife’s Mojo festival. The ladz had the idea to do a world cup song this year as FIFA announced there would not be an official England song for the first time since 1966. Their original song was actually written by Chris Ashley who is the dad of Jordi, Nauty Boyz drummer, but it is wholly sung and played by Nauty Boyz. It is a catchy football anthem and its residing theme is that the England fans are again optimistic that this year the world cup will be ours again. It’s got chants, clapping and a ripping chorus. “The fans won’t let you down” can easily rival other football greats like “Vindaloo” or “3 lions” and is entered in a competition at www.worldcupsong.com It entered this chart at No 26 in the England song section so has a great chance. The winner will be the song with most hits on you tube when the ball is kicked off for the World Cup Final 2010 (scheduled for 20:30 GMT 11th July 2010) and will win a minimum 1st Prize of £1,000.00. Andy Reynolds, a music producer who lives in the UK met up with the Boyz and recorded their song in his Lanzarote studio where he produced a really polished finish on the final mix. The ladz then had great fun with the video which was recorded by a mate and has a fun “Monkees” feel to it. To finish the video the Boyz wanted to include their fans and family so a call to arms was made for anyone who wanted to be involved to meet up in Bourbon Street wearing England shirts for the last bit of the video recording. It was great fun to pogo with the Boyz and their energy really feeds the crowd. If you get a chance you should check out the boyz live as they are so up for it and they never let the crowd down. The Nauty Boyz are a hard working band having a shot at it with their song “The fans won’t let you down”, and they are asking for everyone’s support to click on their song and then pass it on.
