I did have a giggle when I first spotted the eye catching logo at this new hairdresser in Arrecife.
“5€ for any haircut, Ladies, men’s or children’s” says their headlining window display.
I imagined behind the screened window you would be stood in a line with a bowl placed on your head and a quick trim around it and be out in the street again 5€ lighter!
However curiosity did get the better of me when my youngest child needed a summer haircut, I took him in. The salon is divided into men’s and ladies area and on the midweek afternoon that we visited there were at least eight stylists busy with clients, plus an additional beauty area for nails, eyebrows and waxing. There appeared to be all the usual tinting, crimping and blow drying going on as well as glamorous ladies leaving the beauty salon.
I have to say the children’s area is fantastic. There is a cute waiting area complete with a Bob Spongepants mural, children’s tables and chairs with colouring and reading books. However best of all is the TV in place of a mirror at the children’s height during their haircut. The elevating chair has a safety seatbelt and my son who is a renowned fidget sat completely entranced with the cartoons playing.
The haircut did actually cost 5€ and we took note of the other charges which means you can decide how much you pay depending on the additional services you take.
A ladies blow dry for example costs from 6-10€ depending on hair length and a Wella tint costs 10€.
The Easy Savings salon is in central Arrecife, just off Calle Fajardo, below the petrol station in the middle of the road.
