Lanzarote is a popular destination for cruise ships, currently we have the following Cruise Lines with schedules to Puerto Naos in Arrecife - P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Cunard, Aida, Holland America & RSSC. Here are some facts and figures and photos of them……… P&O Cruises have the following ships that dock: * Oriana was built in 1995 but had a makeover in 2006, she has 10 passenger decks, 914 cabins and just under 800 crew. * Arcadia was built in 2005 with 11 passenger decks, 976 cabins and 880 crew. * Oceana launched in 2003, she has 11 passenger decks, 1008 cabins and a crew of 875. * Aurora was built in 2000, there are 10 passenger decks, 939 cabins and 850 crew. Oriana Aurora Royal Caribbean Cruises have three ships sailing into Lanzarote: * Navigator of the Seas was built in 2002 with 15 passenger decks, 1557 cabins and 1185 crew. * Voyager of the Seas was launched in 1999 but with a refit in 2002, has 14 passenger decks, 1557 cabins, and a crew of 1176. * Independence of the Seas is the newest, largest cruise ship launched in 2008 with 15 passenger decks, 1360 crew and can take 4370 passengers. Independence of the Seas Cunard: Cunard don’t currently have any cruises to Lanzarote but as these photos show, we have seen these classics in port in Arrecife: Queen Mary 2 Queen Victoria Queen Elizabeth 2 Aida currently have Bella but plan for Luna to call in the Canaries too when launched in 2009: * Bella was launched in 2008, she has 13 decks with 1025 cabins. Holland America have one cruise ship stopping in Lanzarote: * MS Prinsendam was built in 1988 and refurbished in 2005, it has 9 passenger decks 398 cabins and 428 crew. Regent Seven Seas Cruises: * Seven Seas Voyager was launched in 2003 and it has 350 cabins. There is a good viewing spot to watch the cruise ships on the old Arrecife coast road, pull into the lay by just before the Castillo San José (around the corner from Ikea) alternatively you can drive into the port and see them close up. |
