Tickets for the Concierto Lírico to be held in the Cueva de Los Verdes in Lanzarote on Thursday the 3rd of January 2013 are now on sale. The Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism together with Lanzarote’s Classical Orchestra have organised this lyrical concert to welcome in 2013. Sopranos Sheyla Rizo, Beni Ferrer and Xerach Alonso will be performing during the concert, as will tenors Leo García & Juanma, accompanied by Ricardo Francia on the piano. The 50 minute concert includes recitals from some of the most celebrated composers and starts at 20:00. Ricardo Francia Born in Las Palmas he began studying music in Lanzarote. A disciple of Nicole Posel & Francisco Martínez he studied piano and chamber music at the Conservatory of Music in Las Palmas. Ricardo has been teaching at the same Conservatory since 1995. Xerach Alonso Began at the Conservatory of Lanzarote with Alicia Garcia before moving to Barcelona to continue training at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu, singing with Professor Carmen Bustamante. Xerach has performed works by the most famous opera composers and won second prize in the Certamen de Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla 2011. Beni Ferrer Born in Lanzarote this singer began her musical career at an early age, recording her first album with the pop group Maraballas Band at sixteen. Beni studied singing at the Conservatory of Music of Lanzarote, she also founded the musical group La Perla and has performed solo in the musicals Les Miserables, Hair & Grease. Juan Manuel Padrón Born in Lanzarote he studied singing at the Conservatories of Lanzarote and Tenerife with Alicia García, Célida Alzola and Isabel García Soto. Continuing later at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid with Manuel Cid, and at the Conservatorio Superior Rafael Orozco in Córdoba with Juan Luque & Carlos Hacar. Juan has performed recitals throughout much of Spain. Sheyla Rizo Born in La Habana (Cuba), Sheyla studied at the Conservatorio Félix Varela, continuing at the Instituto Superior de Arte graduating with a Bachelor of Music and a singing career. Her first debut was Cio Cio San in Madame Butterfly. As a figure with the Teatro Lírico Nacional of Cuba, Sheyla has covered composers including Scarlatti, Paisiello, Cimarosa, Handel, Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini. Moving to Lanzarote in 2008 she’s a soloist with the Coral Polifónica San Ginés and teaches singing. Leo García Corujo Born in Lanzarote Leo comes from a family dedicated to music. Initially singing with folk groups, he took private lessons with Sheyla Rizo for technique, voice and operatic repertoire.
