Christmas Day Weather Report from Lanzarote

True to form, Lanzarote served up a perfect day's weather for Christmas day, in common with the last five years, but it didn't seem as though that was going to be the case yesterday!
Christmas eve was cold (15 degrees), cloudy and very blustery, and we joined the other shoppers in Arrecife, bundled up in warm clothes. For once the stalls selling roasted chestnuts seems appropriate. Then we had a torrential downpour at around 2AM, and I really thought we were going to be in trouble.
But the morning dawned perfectly and we've had full sunshine, without a cloud in the sky all day. The winds were light and the beaches were full of happy tourists. The temperature topped out at around 23 degrees, and most of us ate our Christmas dinner in the sunshine.
What a wonderful day!
