There are a number of charities registered in Lanzarote, if you are living here or simply on holiday and would like to help, any or all of the following would be grateful of any time or donations that you can spare.

Calor y Café

Calor y Café has been in operation for the last 13 years primarily to provide basic hygiene and food to homeless people with drug abuse problems. The café expanded in 2010 due to the economic crisis, their services expanded to provide food and support for local families in desperate need.

Donations can be left at the warehouse after 4.30pm

SARA

SARA (Asociación Protectora de Animales y Plantas "SARA") is the local animal shelter with the heartbreaking job of housing and feeding an average of 150 dogs and 70 cats per day. Many of the animals have been abandoned or neglected and just want a loving home.

TRi W.W.W. is a local sports charity helping physically challenged people to develop interests in sport, participate in events, generally developing them to be better humans and enjoy life to the full.

Niños del Tercel Mundo Niños del Tercer Mundo is a Spanish registered charity started in the mid 1990’s by Gill and Christopher David who were concerned with the welfare and education of children living in the third world.

9 Lives Lanzarote

9 Lives Lanzarote run campaigns to neuter and spay the population of feral cats living in Lanzarote. The charity has also set up Cat Cafés across the island to help raise the standard of living for these wild cats.

The Asociación de Familiares de Enfermos de Alzheimer y otras Demencias de Lanzarote (AFA) are an organisation helping families with sufferers of Alzheimer and dementia.
