Tinajo is nearly the last of our carnival programme guides for 2011, events will be held from 25th to 27th March which co-incides with the celebrations over in Costa Teguise. The carnival poster was designed by Sra. Mª Nela Hernández Callero and is titled "Nadando desde Roma" which translates to Swimming from Rome.

Friday 25th March

21:00 Inauguration of carnival at the Salón Social in Tinajo with a moder dance class, performance from the comparsas Sur Caliente and Drag Queen Gala. Later there will be a verbena (party) with live music from Suso y Familia and Cuarteto Atlántico. During the evening there will be a competition for the best fancy dress created from a sheet (Concurso de Disfraces de la SÁBANA).

Saturday 26th March

17:30 The carnival procession of murgas, comparsas and batucada groups will leave from the Plaza de los Dolores making their way to the Campo Municipal de Fútbol. Later another verbena with music from Trío Doramas, Banda Nueva and Cuarteto Atlántico.

Sunday 27th March

18:00 Children’s carnival with a costume parade, modern dance class, Javy Martín (from TV Fama) singer/author Bruno, dance couple Estefanía y Serafin and children’s playback. The finale is a street parade with Batucada de Tinajo and the burning of the Budión (wrasse).
