Canaries Alternative Music Festival, 20th March 2011

The sixth edition of the FMAC (Festival de Músicas Alternativas de Canarias) will be held around the Canary Islands from the 18th March to the 16th April 2011. The event is an opportunity to enjoy a wide sampling of contemporary music styles from across the archipelago.

Lanzarote has two concert venues with three bands appearing on the 20th March 2011.

St Fusion was originally formed as St Dúo and consisted of Satomi Morimoto (voice, piano, keyboard) & Tomás López-Perea Cruz (bass, guitar) back in 2003. Now with another 3 band members Miguel Manescau (guitar), Juani mason (flute) and Sergio (drums) they are known as St Fusion. They have played in the Canary Islands, Spain and Tokyo and released a couple of albums.

La Dínamo Sonora

This young Lanzarote band emerged from Puerto Naos in 2008. Band members are Samuel Peña (bass) Francisco Rodríguez (guitar), José Suárez (drums), Erik Jiménez (percussion and voice) El Hadji Diame (known as Joe from Senegal). Their songs are influenced by funk, jazz, soul, rock, rap and latin.

Comsat

Comsat was born in 2008 and won the 4th edition of the Ropavieja Music Festival which is one of the most important band competitions in the Canary Islands. Their sound is based on pure pop rock.
