There are any number of car hire companies on the island, ranging from the multi national companies you will all be familiar with, to small local firms you may never have heard of. Hiring a car on the island is the best way to travel - you can see all the sites at your own pace, and in comfort. Vist Teguise market on a Sunday, go and see the cactus gardens, or have a look at Timanfaya, you'll enoy them all much more in your own car than you would in a bus following somebody else's timetable.
With a plethora of Chinese restaurants in Lanzarote there are many good ones available around the resorts. The best without a doubt is the Taiwan in Arrecife, situated in Calle Canalejas the easiest way to find the restaurant is to park under the Gran Hotel and when you surface from the car park, cross over the road and walk through to the side road runnig parallel to the coast road and the Taiwan is on the corner. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the portions are huge and I can promise that you won't be disappointed. The lemon chicken is the best I've ever eaten!
Nothing will quite prepare you for Teguise market, the first time you visit. A marketing man would suggest that Lanzarote is punching well above its weight with Teguise market, and indeed, if it were to have to survive on our small population, the market would wither and die. And that's exactly why it's aimed fairly and squarely at the 1.6 million tourists who visit the island every year.
