There are some fantastic varieties of birds to be seen around the island of Lanzarote, some of them live locally in the Canary Islands, others are on migration routes or just they visit for the winter months.
Francisco Javier García Vargas, Juan Sagardía Pradera and Antonio Unquiles Cobos have been birdwatching in Lanzarote for the last six years, and have made a complete list of the birds observed here since they started in 2002.

Hi ive been coming to Lanzarote for the last 3 years in April. we stay at the Floresta,i bird watch on the rough ground behind the hotel. I see the resident bird eg Southern Shrike,Berthelots pipit & hoopoe . last year i found 2 Stone Curlew , lesser Kestrel& 5 Bee-eaters . But this year on the 27th -30th April we had a Golden Oriole,i also saw a lark but not sure if it was a Crested or Thekla do you have any thoughts on that ?. Im coming to Lanzarote this year again on 16th Sept for 2 weeks what could i see at this time of the year ?
