The Bird of Paradise flower is beautiful and often used in bouquets as the flower is long lasting when cut. The plant takes 7 years to start flowering, its named because it looks like the head of a bird with the bright orange and blue plumage and green pod for the beak. Part of the Strelitzia family.  |
