The 5th June is World Environment Day, there is a great opportunity to get involved with a local project in Lanzarote to clean the beach at Famara. Clandestino surf school have organised a "Limpia tu Playa” (clean your beach) event in collaboration with the Ayuntamiento de Teguise, Surfrider Foundation, Alto Riesgo TV and magazine Radical Surf. Famara beach is beautiful and a place that both residents and tourists enjoy, this surf school started an initiative earlier in the year called Clean The Beach & Surf giving free surf lessons to school children in return for them collecting rubbish from the beach first. If you would like to participate, please meet the Clandestino team at their surf school on Calle Leito 4 in Famara (map) for 11am, the group will then proceed to the Teleclub in Famara where gloves and rubbish sacks will be distributed. The group will be divided into teams to collect rubbish and marine debris from the beach for 2 hours. At the end of the beach clean up, a group photo will be taken to be published in the media. All participants will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win one of the following three prizes: 1st Prize: 1 day surfing course for 2 people Related Information: |
