We are often asked what brands and prices are available for babies in Lanzarote, so here is the info! I can't compare the prices to the UK so you will have to decide if to pack supplies in your suitcase for your holiday or buy on arrival. Nappies There were 3 main brands available from newborn to toddler that included Dodot, Huggies and Moltex. The packs were from €15 to €20 depending on the size, prices were an average of 0.20 cents per nappy. You can also buy the little swimmers range from Huggies for in the swimming pool. Also available is a full range of baby wipes including Johnsons baby (& shampoo). Milk The tins of powdered baby milk were available in all stages with the following brands: Puleva Prices ranged from €13-16 euros per tin. Cereal Boxes of dry cereal were available by Nestle, Hero and Milupa, the flavours were plain, with fruit or chocolate and priced at just over €3 per box Jars There was a good selection of baby food in jars available, brands by Nestle, Beech Nut and Hero. Lots of pureed fruit and pudding options. Prices were just over a Euro for 250g bottle or €1.20 for 2 x 130g jars. What I couldn't see was any savoury baby food in either cereal or jars so if your little one likes something particular, bring it with you. I'm not sure I understand why there isn't any available, maybe the local mums all prepare mashed or blended homemade food?! There are a number of companies offering baby equipment hire such as travel cots, buggies, car seats, stair gates etc so don't feel like you have to bring it all with you, you can travel lighter if you want to. More information about Eurospar can be found here.

Hi, Thanks for the info. I
Hi, Thanks for the info. I will be in PDC for 4 weeks in May/June. I want to buy all my supplies when I get out to PDC. Can you tell me in which supermarket I can find all the above. I have 2 under 2 and a 4 yr old, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Michelle
Kids stuff
Hi Michelle, This information was from Eurospar in Arrecife so you would need a car or could take a taxi from Puerto del Carmen - If you email me on miguel@lanzaroteinformation.com I can send you a map and more information. The local pharmacy's have lots of supplies too but the best selection is in the larger supermarkets out of resort. Have a great holiday, Jules
Now with savoury meals too!
I stopped dead in the baby food isle this week whilst shopping in Europspar, as there is now a whole range of savoury meal options in glass jars from Hero!
Bringing food into Lanzarote
Hi, Do you know of any food that I can't bring through customs,we are going self catering and would like to bring a few bits with us. Cheers
Annie
Not Fresh
Hi Annie, I would suggest that you put your items in one of the suitcases because of the liquid 100ml rule on your hand luggage and don't include any fresh items like cheese, fruit and veg, meat or fish. Anything bottled, canned or boxed should be fine - if you can smell it don't bring it!! What kind of items were you thinking of? Are you worried you wouldn't be able to find them here? We do have some specialist British product supermarkets on the island as well as large supermarkets, instead of the small Netto and Spar shops you see in the resort which are more expensive to shop in. Jules
Pampers
I noticed a new section of Pampers nappies this week - they have Baby Dry and Total Dry, I didn't stop to see what quantity was in the package but the price was around €9 per pack.
Great Info!
Thanks for the information you provided. Should try Europspar.
aptamil 1+
just wondering if aptamil 1+ is available in peurto del carmen for my 18month old please
Aptimil Follow on Milk (Number 3)
Hi there.
I am staying in Costa Teguise at the start of October and was planning on bringing all the formula milk my 10 month old would need for the week. I was slightly worried about the 15kg baggage allowance. It would be fantastic if I was able to get the Aptimil Follow on milk over there. Do you know if this is possible without travelling to Accerife? I don't want to be stuck over there with no formula.
Thanks, Rachel.
And the survey said.......
Hi Rachel,
I surveyed two supermarkets and one pharmacy in Costa Teguise looking for Aptimil milk. The large supermarket on Avda Islas Canarias that was a Netto but is now Hiperdino did have Aptimil number 2 for 6 months plus, there was only one in stock, otherwise they had Nestle Nidina 1 & 2. I then visited the Spar on the corner of this road just along from Pueblo Marinero, they didn't stock any baby milk, just nappies! The main pharmacy on this road opposite the parking for Playa Las Cucharas only had a tin of follow on milk by Natal which I haven't seen before.
So if you use Aptimil number 2 then you may be able to get it at the Hiiperdino opposite cc Las Maretas, if they replenish their stock!
Jules
Aptamil
Hi Karen and Rachel, I don't know for sure if the Aptamil that you've asked about is available in both of those resorts - but I will have a look and let you know if I found it and where. Jules

Baby Food in Playa Blanca
Hi Sinead
The main supermarket in the resort is HiperDino, they have two branches one in the centre Calle Corrello and the other towards the Marina Rubicon on Avenida Papagayo. You can see the map location on their website here, both are within easy walking distance of your hotel.
http://www.hiperdino.es/localizador/
There are also Netto and Spar shops too.
Most stores shop the bottles of fruit puree and some vegetable options.
Thanks
Jules

thanks sheena
Hiperdino
Hi Shena
I think there is a Hiperdino supermarket located in Cinco Plazas which would be the first place to try for the nappies and milk. If not and you have a car the closest Eurospar is at Macher on the outskirts of the resort - on the main road that goes to Playa Blanca.
Jules
Water
Hey,
My husband and I are traveling to Playa Blanca in a couple of weeks with our 2 year old and our 7 month old. We were a little worried about what water to use to make our youngests bottles with. Hope you can help.
Thanks

Cow and Gate
Just to add (from above!!) Is that cow and gate milk in the photo? Was gonna take some with us but If they sell it over there we might change our minds. Where would be the closest place to get from. We are staying in the Rubicon Palace.
Thanks again,
Michelle
Baby food
Hi there everyone,
I'm heading to Puerto del Carmen with my 10month old start of Aug and i'm bringing 2 tins of SMA follow on milk.. I'm wondering if anyone has been there with 10month old before and would it be best to just bring the formula and get nappies and jar food over there? And are they expensive?
