Apparently Aston Villa Football Club has approached the Lanzarote Toursim Board during the World Travel Market in London to propose that they become a sponsor of this football team.
Sponsorship of a UK football team could be really beneficial for promoting Lanzarote, the Villa team has more than 700,000 followers on social media and Birmingham is the second largest city in the United Kingdom with good flight connections to the island.
The proposal also includes the possibility of holding football clinics in Lanzarote.
According to the Minister of Tourism Council of Lanzarote, Astrid Perez said "if we close a deal with the club, we would have a completely innovative promotional platform through which we could reach potential customers. "
