The deadline is approaching for the Lanzarote Volcano Triathlon organised by Club La Santa and held on the 1st May 2010. The event comprises of the following disciplines which can be completed as an individual or relay team:
1.5 km swim (Sea water lagoon at Club La Santa)
40 km bike (Two loops from Club La Santa through Soo to Famara and back)
10 km run (Two loops from Club La Santa around the lagoon and back)
This triathlon event attracts both the Ironman athletes as a warm up to their big event later in the month and a range of local athletes, making it competitive but fun. There is a limit of 500 places and registration is available either:
* Online with Active.com at a discounted rate of €50 per individual or €100 per team – deadline 30th April 2010 14:00
* By post or direct with Club La Santa €60 per individual or €120 per team – deadline 20th April 2010.
The race starts at 10am, all finishers will receive a t-shirt and medal and there is prize money for the top 10 male and female finishers. You can see photos and information from the 25th Volcano Triathlon here.
